this is the kinda stuff that i really love to hear! old demos are just my particular wheelhouse, these days.
today's "people" don't really understand how much pressure was on a poor band or artist in the studios, back in the day. you just had to watch EVERY penny. time to rewind? no, that take's a keeper. has to be.
my gal made it out of l.a., but all her stuff probably gone. but: whew! it's not a great time, right now. music sure helps, thanks joe, xxxcm
Cheers, Clarke. Money has always been an issue. It always works out, but there’s always some juggling to make it all happen. No different than any small business.
Wonderful song, and in my current state of mind, “piquant chords” was the observation. That same observer might also have enjoyed playing back the LP track at various speeds. At 1.5 you mentally fill in Ringo. When you redline it, a little ragtime insinuates itself. And since Western swing is basically ragtime with a drawl, I hope we get a swing number on the next record. I’m sure I’ll still feel this way in a couple of hours. “We play to six just like we play to ten…”
Great song. My favourite part of the story is the name "Ducky Vitale".
Cheers, KC

well also, the pressure has certainly caused a lot of great records - along with a lot of trauma, ha ha.
I can’t imagine Chappaquiddick Skyline without it. Love the original demo.

Great to hear. ❤️
One of my all-time favorites. Looking forward to seeing how you play it.
