Chappaquiddick Skyline VINYL Bandcamp Friday pre-order! Yes, it's true!

Plus, here's a Christmas song I wrote when I was 18 years old.

Friends,

Hope you’re all well.

We’re doing pretty well, thanks.

It’s been hard not to spill the beans over the past few months, but today I’m blabbing.

Our friends at New West Records are releasing the first vinyl issue of my album Chappaquiddick Skyline. Not going to lie, I’m pretty excited about this. Up until last year I wouldn’t have imagined it would happen. But here we are. It’s a done deal. Got the green light. The go-ahead. The nod, etc.

And today is the best day to buy it because it’s a Bandcamp Friday. That means the artist (me) receives an even bigger slice of the pie. I like pie.

You may order a vinyl copy of the album here:

The link will provide all the details.

The album was recorded on analog tape back in Fall of 1998. The original mixes have been mastered for vinyl by the legend Bob Weston. The master sounds fantastic. And the New West issue looks great on clear vinyl. I couldn’t be happier with it.

I hope everyone who picks one up really enjoys it.

In other news: If you are not subscribed to the Pernice Brothers mailing list, you probably did not receive the the Christmas song I included here today. The title is ‘86 Christmas. I’m not going to rewrite my recollections of writing and making the original recording of the song back in 1985. But if you subscribe to the mailing list you may read about it there. And you won’t miss such ramblings in the future.

You may join the list here:

Additionally, I will be playing a solo show in Boston on December 27. It’s a small private home with a limited number of tickets. I’ll test drive some new songs and cruise around my catalogue.

You may find all of the details here:

I am looking to do more of these kinds of shows next year, and we are working with Undertow. If you are interested in hosting a show with yours truly, you can get in touch here:

And finally, back by popular demand: The Charlie Ashmont T-shirt. What a great dog Charlie was. He didn’t like Peyton or my mother. Or delivery people in uniform. But other those characters, he was a pussycat of a pit bull mutt. If I can dig it it up, I’ll post the video I took of him over 20 years ago. I caught him drinking out of the toilet at the old Ashmont Records, Inc. office. He pretended like he hadn’t been drinking from the mug. Good ol’ Charles.

Here's the link to his commemorative shirt

Okay, that’s a lot of stuff. Pretty exciting day for me. I don’t think about any record of mine all that much once it’s been released and the shows have happened. I’m usually deep into the next record at all times. It’s pretty cool to have a legit reason to revisit the past. Recording Chappaquiddick Skyline was one of my favorite music-making experiences. Nice to think on those times.

As always, thanks for listening and for years of support. I only get to make records as I do because of you people. Without you I’d be…I honestly don’t know what I’d be doing.

Take care of yourselves and those around you.
